The bathing lakes around Kramsach boast water temperatures of up to 25°C in summer – this guarantees unlimited bathing fun in velvet clear water from June to September. A total of four lakes can be found in the surroundings of Kramsach. Therefore, the village is also known as the “bathtub of Tirol”. Kramsach has 5,000 inhabitants and is embedded in the Tirolean Seenland Alpbach area in the district of Kitzbühel. It ensures sparkling summer holidays between mountains and crystal-clear lakes: Couples newly in love may spend a hot summer day at the remote Lake Berglsteinersee, which can only be reached by bike or on foot. Families take a plunge in the 3.6ha-large Lake Krummsee or at Lake Reintalersee – the warmest natural bathing lake boasting water temperatures of up to 25°C and providing drinking water quality. Active holiday makers take their swimming suits, get on their bikes and cycle to Lake Frauensee or Lake Buchsee which are under nature protection. Purists will love the camping facilities in Kramsach: If you want to enjoy views of the lake early in the morning, then choose one of the three top campsites in Kramsach. After a refreshing bath in the lake, continue with rafting, kayaking or white water swimming. Hiking fans can take the Kramsach lifts up to 1,900 meters above sea level and discover the Rofan Mountains on well sign-posted trails. Further sights: Farmers’ Museum with 14 originally preserved farms, “Lustiger Friedhof” (funny cemetery) and Haflingerhof farm where you can try delicious ice-cream specialities on the lakeside terrace.

Kramsach: Winter Magic in the Ski Juwel Area

46 lifts, 145 km of perfect powder snow and numerous traditional huts: The Ski Juwel Alpbachtal – Wildschönau skiing area makes the heart of skiing fans leap for joy. It is only a stone’s throw away from Kramsach and one of the most diverse ski resorts in the Kitzbühler Alps. Families and beginners will find 30 km of easy slopes (marked blue). Furthermore, there are another 80 km of slopes marked red and 20 km of slopes marked black for more experienced skiers. A total of 100 km of cross-country skiing tracks attract beginners of the popular Nordic sport and eight great tobogganing runs guarantee fun and action for the entire family. And if the weather in Kramsach shouldn’t be that good, there are numerous other possibilities available, such as ice skating at the Arena Kundl or fun at the “WAVE Wörgl” indoor pool with a lot of water slides. Insider’s tip: Couples will particularly enjoy a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride – the perfect start for magic winter holidays in the Alpbachtal valley.

There's hardly any other place in Tirol with as many lakes, brooks, rivers, ... Go swimming in one of the area's 4 lakes or the Brandenberger Ache river. The top three camping sites are situated next to the lakes.

Hikers will find ideal conditions on the Rofan mountains, around the legendary lake Zireinersee or on the numerous walking and hiking trails circling the warm swimming lakes. Take the Sonnwendjochbahn chairlift to get from 520m to 1,900m.

Sports fans and adventurers will love kayaking, rafting or white-water swimming organized by Sport Ossi, the outdoor specialist.

In autumn 2003, Austria´s highest ropes course was installed in Kramsach. This unique climbing and adventure garden features 17m high obstacles, state-of-the-art equipment, certified trainers, and is open throughout the seasons.

Kramsach has also a lot to offer for culture lovers. The Tirolean Farmhouse Museum exhibits traditional farmhouses -witnesses of old customs and traditions.

Humour with a difference can be enjoyed at the "Funny Cemetary" by the artist blacksmith Hans Guggenberg. A cemetary without dead persons, but with cross inscriptions that make you smile. Free admission.

At the sculpture park you can experience a unique symbiosis of art and natur throughout the year.

Kramsach offers a great program off the slopes. Ice skating on an artificial rank or on lake Reintaler See (at your own risk).
Cross-country skiers can use two superbly groomed tracks along the lake and winter walkers will find plenty of cleared trails.
